Responsibilities
- Design target microservice architectures, service boundaries, component responsibilities, and distributed service interactions.
- Design REST, gRPC, and Kafka-based integrations with internal services and external banking systems.
- Define API contracts, integration interfaces, security approaches, fault-tolerance strategies, scalability, error handling, retries, and recovery mechanisms.
- Create and maintain architectural documentation using C4, UML, sequence diagrams, and component diagrams.
- Analyze existing banking architectures, assess technical risks, and select technologies and architectural patterns.
- Document architectural decisions, explain them to stakeholders, and guide development teams during implementation.
Requirements
- Proven experience independently designing microservice architectures and making architectural decisions.
- Experience designing distributed systems, REST and/or gRPC APIs, integration solutions, and event-driven asynchronous communication.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message brokers.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant, scalable, and high-load systems and documenting architectures with C4, UML, and interaction diagrams.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes at the architectural level.
- Understanding of distributed systems security, including OAuth, TLS, authentication, authorization, and access control.
- Experience designing banking, payment, fintech, or other systems requiring strict reliability and data consistency.
- Ability to analyze architectures and justify technology and design choices, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
- English level of A2+ and availability to work on-site at the client’s office in Almaty.
