Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of computer vision and machine learning algorithms for detection, classification, localization, and object tracking.
- Implement ML algorithms and validate designs through purpose-designed experiments, testing, and verification activities.
- Analyze model errors and develop strategies to improve trained models.
- Select datasets and data representations and supervise data acquisition when needed.
- Advise on ML software infrastructure and DevOps processes.
- Select hardware for specific machine learning applications and manage hardware, data, and personnel resources.
- Coordinate activities across teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Track relevant academic literature, commercial products, and open-source projects to maintain technically advanced solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related science or engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, with the posting also stating a minimum of 8–12 years of relevant experience in machine learning and/or computer vision.
- Familiarity with C/C++ or Python and proficiency with PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas, OpenCV, Linux, and ML standards such as ONNX.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Expertise in visualizing and manipulating large datasets and ability to select appropriate hardware for ML applications.
- Experience with Department of War and Intelligence Community organizations is desired.
- Familiarity with classified workspaces, strong problem-solving and communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work independently in deadline-driven teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain at least a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
- Must be willing to travel frequently, up to 40%.
