Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver scalable authentication and session services on Salesforce Core using Java.
- Build and evolve standards-based identity protocols including OAuth 2.0/2.1, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, PKCE, DPoP, mTLS-bound tokens, token exchange, and DBSC.
- Harden sessions and credentials against hijacking, replay, phishing, credential stuffing, and related attacks.
- Threat-model features, address penetration-test and bug-bounty findings, and participate in incident reviews with Product Security.
- Deploy security enforcement through feature flags, phased cohorts, telemetry, backward compatibility, and deprecation plans.
- Develop test strategies, automation frameworks, and unit, functional, negative, and abuse-case tests.
- Participate in on-call rotation for authentication outages and security incidents and maintain highly available services.
- Mentor engineers, present and review designs, and improve development processes and secure-coding practices.
- Use AI development tools and prompt engineering to produce secure, reliable, production-ready code and system context.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience; senior-level candidates require 5+ years including ownership of production services.
- Strong Java and object-oriented design skills, with large multi-tenant codebase experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or SAML, plus knowledge of authentication, authorization, sessions, and token types.
- Working knowledge of applied cryptography, secure coding, browser security, web technologies, databases, and relational schema design.
- Experience with automated unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, and Selenium.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in development workflows.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create reliable, secure production system context.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Preferred qualifications include identity infrastructure, MFA, passwordless authentication, identity RFCs, HSMs, cloud KMS, secrets management, regulated environments, security research or incident response, Agile development, and test-driven development experience.
