Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend systems for B2B commerce in hospitality.
- Develop server-side applications, APIs, and data-intensive solutions using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and Postgres.
- Architect systems supporting money movement, financial data integrity, and digitized business processes.
- Improve system scalability, performance, monitoring, and database optimization.
- Manage cloud deployment, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Build and maintain search infrastructure using Elasticsearch or similar technologies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience as a senior contributor on teams that have shipped successful products.
- Deep backend expertise with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Postgres, and API design.
- Strong object-oriented design and programming skills, including architecture for complex data-intensive systems.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment using AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Experience building software for money movement and digitizing historically paper-based processes.
- Experience with data modeling, database optimization, and maintaining data integrity in financial systems.
- Experience building and maintaining search infrastructure, ideally with Elasticsearch or similar technologies.
- Open source software contributions or other pro-bono development work are valued.
