Responsibilities
- Build and enhance scalable applications supporting Sony Music’s global products and platforms.
- Design, develop, maintain, and test software across the full application stack.
- Translate complex business requirements into reliable technical solutions with product managers and business stakeholders.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Design APIs and services integrating with internal systems and third-party platforms.
- Improve application performance, observability, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Establish engineering best practices and improve development processes with engineering leadership.
- Troubleshoot production issues using logs, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining complex software applications.
- Experience implementing distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
- Strong experience with Python and JavaScript.
- Experience building frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
- Experience with databases and query technologies such as MySQL, Snowflake, Neo4j, Kafka, or OpenSearch.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with HTTP and OAuth standards.
- Comfort working in AWS cloud environments.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and automated tests.
- Experience investigating production issues through logging, monitoring, and performance analysis.
- Experience in Agile development environments and strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Preferred experience with financial, accounting, ERP, payments, e-commerce, content, data, or other complex data-intensive systems.
- Preferred experience with complex domain modeling, schema design, relational databases, application and query optimization, large-scale data processing, developer tooling, technical documentation, mentoring, and leading technical initiatives without direct people-management responsibility.
