Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and continuously improve QA activities for data-intensive environments.
- Perform end-to-end ETL, data workflow, functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Validate data extraction, transformation, loading, reconciliation, completeness, consistency, accuracy, and business rules.
- Use advanced SQL to analyze source-to-target mappings, joins, aggregations, transformations, and data defects.
- Develop and maintain reusable test automation utilities and frameworks using Python, PySpark, and Pandas where possible.
- Test cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, data processing solutions, and integrations across Azure services.
- Perform API and integration testing, including validation of data exchanges between applications and services using Postman.
- Manage the full defect lifecycle, including root-cause analysis, prioritization, fix verification, and closure.
- Identify quality risks, define mitigation measures, monitor test coverage, and promote continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with technical and business stakeholders and communicate technical findings, risks, dependencies, blockers, and defects in terms of business impact.
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer, Data QA Engineer, Data Test Engineer, ETL Test Engineer, or similar.
- Demonstrable experience with ETL testing, Big Data testing, manual testing, BI and reporting validation, data validation, and data reconciliation.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with the complete end-to-end testing lifecycle.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and good knowledge of ETL frameworks and processes.
- Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, Pandas, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Gen2, and Postman.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, accuracy, quality-orientation, ownership, accountability, communication, stakeholder-management, and risk-management skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical information clearly and work independently in complex, data-driven environments.
- Experience with or strong interest in AI-driven testing and intelligent test automation is a strong advantage.
