Responsibilities
- Maintain and tune Linux operating systems and Kubernetes control planes across self-hosted bare-metal infrastructure.
- Build and maintain scalable container-management, configuration-management, and automation tools.
- Investigate infrastructure disruptions, performance bottlenecks, and system-call-level issues, including root-cause analysis.
- Lead or participate in platform engineering and infrastructure-standardization projects with globally distributed teams.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for critical production systems.
- Develop self-service tools, automation pipelines, and infrastructure monitoring.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Linux experience, including kernel tuning, process management, system calls, and performance optimization.
- At least 3 years of production experience with configuration-management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or SaltStack.
- Experience building, operating, and troubleshooting bare-metal Kubernetes clusters, including control plane, etcd, and CNI plugin management.
- Proficiency with automation and scripting using Go, Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash.
- Experience responding to live service disruptions, leading root-cause analysis, and operating Kafka or RabbitMQ in production.
- Preferred: experience with AI/ML or LLM-powered workloads, AWS, GCE, Azure, containerized CI/CD pipelines, distributed key-value stores, observability tools, virtualization infrastructure, low-level networking, and OS-level RPM/DEB packaging.
