$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable distributed-system components and large-scale data processing systems.
- Develop performance, load, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out testing for assigned features.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts, troubleshooting tools, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, and change-management practices.
- Collaborate across teams, prioritize work, track timelines, and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience designing and implementing distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with scalability, resiliency, operability, replication, synchronization, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience implementing performance and load testing, fault-injection testing, monitoring, alerting, and operational automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems and participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of security controls such as encryption and access management, as well as infrastructure compliance and change management.
- Ability to work across teams, independently address standard and non-standard issues, and manage priorities with limited supervision.
