Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded firmware for energy-metering projects using C, C++, Linux, and RTOS platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, coach programmers, and coordinate firmware-domain activities.
- Document subsystem architecture and design, develop technical specifications, create proof of concepts, evaluate prototypes, and make recommendations.
- Lead design and engineering reviews and resolve technical and design conflicts with firmware architects and product owners.
- Perform firmware troubleshooting, debugging, board bring-up, code reviews, defect prevention, configuration management, and project monitoring.
- Develop and work with communication and networking protocols, including wired, wireless, RF, and cellular technologies.
Requirements
- Require 1–3 years of experience designing and developing embedded systems.
- Require hands-on experience with C++, C, Linux, embedded software or firmware development, and RTOS platforms, preferably ThreadX.
- Require experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, RS232, RS485, USB, and Ethernet.
- Prefer experience with ARM, Renesas, or Silabs SoCs or microcontrollers and board bring-up and debugging.
- Prefer experience developing IPv6, DHCP, TCP/UDP, IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee, and LoRa protocol stacks.
- Prefer knowledge of LTE, 2G/3G, RF Mesh, smart-energy products, metering, TFS, Azure DevOps, and requirement-management tools.
- Require a relevant tertiary qualification such as B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech.
- Require mentoring, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, customer-leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
