Base Salary
$135k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize integrations between frontier AI models and government systems, platforms, and data environments.
- Develop custom SDKs, APIs, developer tools, and documentation for government and enterprise developers.
- Partner with agency stakeholders to understand requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate based on real-world feedback.
- Ship production-grade code and features with an emphasis on speed, simplicity, and measurable impact.
- Support responsible AI deployment through safety, transparency, governance, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred: 1+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building scalable systems, APIs, or AI/ML applications, with strong Python proficiency.
- Experience with large language models, generative AI, or agentic systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with government, public-sector, regulated-industry, policy-adjacent, civic-tech, or public-interest technology environments is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, API orchestration, AI safety, governance, red-teaming, responsible AI deployment, or open-source AI and developer-tool contributions.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, high-performance code, translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into technical solutions, solve difficult problems, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed, travel to government sites up to 20%, and obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

- Base salary range is $135,000-$230,000 per year, with potential stock, stock options, long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan access.
