Responsibilities
- Design and document data models and Azure SQL databases for the central data platform, internal applications, and reporting.
- Develop secure REST APIs and backend services using .NET/C# with access checks and permissions enforced at API and data layers.
- Build React/TypeScript front ends integrated with the company intranet and Milestone One design system.
- Create integrations between internal systems and third-party services using APIs, webhooks, and data imports.
- Use GitHub pull requests, code reviews, GitHub Actions CI/CD, and automated code and secret scanning.
- Define infrastructure as code with OpenTofu and use Managed Identity and Key Vault rather than stored secrets.
- Write automated tests with Playwright and support business users during acceptance testing.
- Review, test, and take ownership of code generated by AI coding agents.
- Follow change management and system validation procedures, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver working solutions.
Requirements
- Professional experience building web applications with React/TypeScript and a backend language such as C#/.NET; experienced and early-career developers are welcome.
- SQL experience including schema design, data modeling, and efficient query writing.
- Knowledge of REST API design, authentication, and authorization using Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience with Git branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Azure fundamentals including App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, and Managed Identity.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices such as the OWASP Top 10 and careful handling of personal and sensitive data.
- Willingness to work in a regulated environment involving change control, testing evidence, audit trails, and data integrity.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Nice-to-have experience with .NET 8/C#, Entity Framework or Dapper, OpenTofu or Terraform, Playwright, AI coding assistants, Azure Functions, Static Web Apps, API Management, Front Door/WAF v2, dimensional modeling, Microsoft Graph API, Microsoft 365 integration, clinical trials, GDPR, or HIPAA.
