Responsibilities
- Design and document data models and Azure SQL databases for the central data platform, internal applications, and reporting.
- Develop secure REST APIs and backend services using .NET/C# with Azure App Service or Azure Functions.
- Build React/TypeScript front ends integrated with the company intranet and Milestone One design system.
- Create integrations between internal systems and third-party services using APIs, webhooks, and data imports.
- Use GitHub pull requests, code reviews, GitHub Actions, automated code scanning, and secret scanning.
- Define infrastructure as code with OpenTofu and use Managed Identity and Key Vault instead of stored secrets.
- Write automated tests with Playwright and support business users during acceptance testing.
- Use AI coding agents safely by reviewing, testing, and taking ownership of generated code.
- Follow change management and system validation procedures and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to turn requirements into working solutions.
Requirements
- Professional experience building web applications with React/TypeScript and a backend language such as C# or .NET; experienced and early-career developers are welcome.
- SQL experience including schema design, data modeling, and efficient query writing.
- Experience designing REST APIs and implementing authentication and authorization with Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect.
- Knowledge of Git branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Azure fundamentals including App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, and Managed Identity.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices such as the OWASP Top 10 and careful handling of personal and sensitive data.
- Willingness to work in a regulated environment with change control, testing evidence, audit trails, and data integrity requirements.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience with .NET 8, C#, Entity Framework, Dapper, OpenTofu, Terraform, Playwright, or similar testing tools.
- Preferred experience with AI coding agents or assistants, Azure Functions, Static Web Apps, API Management, Front Door, WAF v2, star-schema modeling, Microsoft Graph API, and Microsoft 365 integration.
- Clinical trial domain knowledge and familiarity with GDPR or HIPAA are advantageous.
