Base Salary
$80k - $100k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical solutions and new features within the Mueller Design System (MBS).
- Analyze engineering workflows and implement automation opportunities to improve user experience and software efficiency.
- Translate engineering requirements into practical software functionality in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Integrate software solutions with enterprise systems and tools through cross-functional project teams.
- Serve as a liaison between end users and developers regarding system needs, challenges, and improvements.
- Coordinate with Technical Services, IT, Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, and other departments.
- Design, execute, document, and support testing for new features, bug fixes, and system updates, including UAT.
- Maintain documentation of software design decisions, codebase structure, change history, test cases, and results.
- Provide technical insight on engineering changes and system development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering is preferred.
- At least 2 years of building design experience or experience in a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of engineering software development and systems engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a senior or lead role, is required.
- Experience with metal building software and technical requirements development is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in C# and C++ are required.
- Knowledge of software architecture, design principles, software development lifecycle practices, legacy-system modernization, and platform migrations is required.
- Experience integrating databases with SQL Server and Microsoft Access is required.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing frameworks, and related development workflows is preferred.
- Experience debugging, testing, and maintaining legacy systems and complex codebases is required.
- Experience designing automated workflows and rule-based systems for engineering calculations is preferred.
- Experience with technical documentation, requirements gathering, system diagramming, and code review is required.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional and distributed teams are required.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adopt emerging engineering-software technologies is required.

- US base salary range is $80,000-$100,000 annually.
