Base Salary
$266k - $445k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve services for search classification, retrieval, ranking, and model inference.
- Improve latency, throughput, infrastructure efficiency, caching, request routing, and capacity planning.
- Build experimentation tooling, automate reproducible A/B tests, and measure product impact.
- Use shadow traffic and load testing to validate systems, estimate capacity, and support safe production rollouts.
- Own production reliability through observability, fallback behavior, incident response, and operational automation.
- Build search APIs and tool interfaces that enable reliable information retrieval while respecting access controls and source attribution.
- Own projects from technical design through launch and iteration while collaborating with researchers and partner engineering teams.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, with depth in performance, reliability, or resource efficiency.
- Experience in search, information retrieval, ML infrastructure, inference serving, or other high-throughput online systems.
- Strong programming and systems debugging skills, including the ability to work across languages and unfamiliar production systems.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product or research needs into technical plans, align partners, and deliver measurable results.
- Ability to learn across systems and machine learning and communicate technical decisions clearly.
