Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks, harnesses, and quality engineering solutions for Conversational AI platforms across Voice and Chat channels.
  • Define test strategies, quality standards, coverage goals, and acceptance criteria with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
  • Develop and execute testing for APIs, backend services, frontend applications, end-to-end workflows, and AI-driven customer interactions.
  • Validate multi-turn dialogues, intent recognition, orchestration logic, and customer journey flows.
  • Build reusable testing tools, frameworks, and infrastructure and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
  • Identify quality gaps and risks, monitor test results and metrics, and report on release readiness.
  • Troubleshoot defects with developers, improve testability, and support test-driven development practices.
  • Create testing documentation, standards, and best practices, and mentor engineers on automation and quality engineering.
  • Contribute hands-on to automated test development and broader engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of total software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on test automation or SDET work.
  • Deep automation testing expertise and the ability to lead engineers developing automation scripts and programs.
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Node.js with Object-Oriented Design experience.
  • API testing expertise, including request/response validation, mocking, and contract testing.
  • Experience with JUnit, Jest, or equivalent test frameworks; custom framework development is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with SoapUI, Postman, Bruno, Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, Hammer, and Cyara.
  • Voice and Chat test automation experience and familiarity with conversational system testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience implementing test automation in pipeline workflows, including GitHub Actions.
  • Experience designing and maintaining test data management strategies.
  • Ability to perform full-stack testing across APIs, backend services, and frontend applications.
  • Experience testing LLM/AI responses with LLM-as-a-Judge or similar evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience with Conversational AI platforms, contract testing, API mocking tools, performance or load testing frameworks, or AI agents is preferred.
  • Strong communication, documentation, mentoring, and testing-strategy skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Hartford, CT, or Wellesley, MA.
