Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to resolve application issues, identify business needs, and deliver solutions throughout the project life cycle.
- Analyze, architect, design, code, test, and maintain IBM i business applications using RPG and SQL.
- Perform unit, integration, smoke, and other testing to ensure application and program integrity.
- Document system architecture for technical and non-technical stakeholders using textual and visual materials.
- Support modernization of legacy business applications into scalable ILE applications.
- Lead code reviews for database and logic changes and lead a small technical team when required.
Requirements
- 20+ years of experience with the IBM i, iSeries, or AS/400 platform.
- Mastery of RPG variants, particularly RPGLE, free-form syntax, and embedded SQL.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with JDA/MMS.
- Expertise in DB2 application programming and database design.
- Deep understanding of ILE modules, service programs, and binding directories.
- Experience with structured deployment and version control processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both client stakeholders and developers.
