Base Salary

$295k - $400k/yr

Responsibilities

Guide complex initiatives from requirements gathering and system design through deployment while evaluating technologies and collaborating with stakeholders.
Build scalable data infrastructure and developer tooling, including data cataloging, versioning, and lineage capabilities.
Design scalable services and APIs, highly available systems, and large-scale data infrastructure.
Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff and mentor other engineers.
Help define the team’s technical roadmap and contribute to engineering culture and productivity.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Proven software design and implementation experience focused on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale.
Experience working with large codebases and building modular, extensible, and maintainable software.
Expertise in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
Hands-on experience developing in a Linux/UNIX environment.
Experience designing scalable services and APIs, highly available systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure.
Experience with data storage and management technologies such as PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, or Redis.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
Preferred familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Iceberg, BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Trino/Athena, Airflow, or Slurm.
Preferred experience building data platforms with a developer-experience focus, including APIs, access patterns, or infrastructure-abstraction tooling.
