Responsibilities
- Design and build resilient APIs, libraries, and tools for Brex engineers and operations.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment.
- Perform the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and production operations.
- Maintain high engineering standards across codebases, infrastructure, and processes.
- Build customer-facing products that create direct business impact and support Brex's expansion into new markets.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working as a software engineer.
- Experience creating libraries and tools for engineers and operations.
- Experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
- Experience with backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Ability to maintain high standards for personal and team performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Written and spoken English proficiency or fluency; interviews will be conducted in English.
- Bonus: experience collaborating with product, design, and operations experts.
- Bonus: familiarity with functional programming languages.
- Bonus: strong writing skills and a proactive approach.
