Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-availability database architectures using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Manage database replication, automated backups, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Optimize database performance using Amazon CloudWatch and Enhanced Monitoring.
- Develop automation scripts using AWS CLI, Python, or Bash, and manage infrastructure with Terraform.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with data protection standards.
- Act as a primary escalation point for critical production incidents in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience managing production MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases.
- Proven experience using Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage database resources.
- Expert level skill in SQL and fluency in Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix internals and OS-level performance tuning.
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
