Base Salary
$140k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Manage the physical lab, equipment, procurement, project scheduling, customer PoCs, internal R&D, and cross-business-unit hardware integrations.
- Lead assembly and fabrication of prototype rigs, sensor arrays, 3D-printed mounts, and microelectronic setups.
- Instrument physical systems and collect, clean, and preprocess high-frequency time-series sensor data.
- Design DSP feature-extraction pipelines and deploy optimized, quantized TinyML models to microcontrollers.
- Collaborate with customers and internal product teams to process hardware telemetry, debug edge firmware, and demonstrate live hardware solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers in firmware debugging, signal processing, and physical prototype fabrication.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline, or a BSEE with extensive, demonstrable lab leadership experience.
- 7–12+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software, physical hardware prototyping, digital signal processing, and real-time edge computing.
- Expertise in physical system fabrication, 3D printing, electrical assembly, PCB bring-up, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debugging.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills for constrained microcontrollers, bare-metal or RTOS development, DMA buffer management, and SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN drivers.
- Deep understanding of DSP for time-series and audio data and practical experience deploying quantized machine-learning models directly onto microcontrollers.
