Responsibilities
- Research attempted or successful system compromises, determine next steps, and support potential escalations.
- Develop and implement automation for security processes and procedures and translate security policy into effective controls.
- Respond to security incidents and conduct threat intelligence and analysis using data analytics to drive security decisions.
- Conduct or support red/purple team operations and improve security posture.
- Maintain hardware, software, network firewalls, and encryption protocols while administering security policies for system access.
- Apply operating systems, cloud infrastructure, virtualized environments, scripting, and networking knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Support infrastructure involving physical servers hosting virtual machines.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must have at least one additional quarter or semester of school remaining after completing the internship.
- Preferred: bachelor's or master's degree in Information Systems, Informatics, or Information Technology.
- Preferred: CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification.
