Base Salary
$141k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop firmware for AIoT infrastructure, robotics, camera products, and accessories
- Develop firmware for embedded Linux and Android SoCs and SoMs
- Develop firmware for microcontrollers, wireless technologies, cellular LTE and 5G, and related RF systems
- Develop battery and power-management subsystems with attention to safety and thermal performance
- Develop manufacturing software provisioning and calibration tooling
- Create unit, integration, and automated tests and test equipment
- Support electrical engineering with board bring-up and hardware debugging
- Write and review design documents, pull requests, and team documentation
- Collaborate with firmware, embedded product, electrical engineering, manufacturing, compliance, SoC, and cellular modem teams
- Improve engineering practices and the use of AI coding tools for embedded firmware development
- Mentor engineers on effective and safe AI-assisted firmware development
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8–14 years of industry firmware or embedded experience developing IoT products
- Programming experience with C, C++, Rust, Golang, and/or Python
- Experience with embedded Linux kernel and user-space development, including Yocto, OpenWRT, or other embedded distributions for BSP
- Experience with the Embedded Android kernel and user space, including AOSP
- Experience with RTOS on microcontrollers
- Basic ability to read datasheets and schematics
- Experience with technical writing and architecture diagramming
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar in a real codebase
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, peripherals, operating systems, concurrency, networking, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design patterns
- Cellular LTE and 5G modem experience is a strong plus
- Battery and power-management subsystem, safety, and thermal experience is a strong plus
