Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team in identifying and scoping well-defined tasks.
- Execute scoped work and remain accountable for timely, high-quality delivery.
- Design systems and make architectural decisions that support rapid customer and traffic growth.
- Build application code, microservices, mapping tools, and distributed data pipelines.
- Mentor peers through one-on-ones, design and code reviews, pairing, and ongoing guidance.
- Test and monitor systems, write documentation, reduce technical debt, and participate in on-call support.
- Optimize application performance and accelerate feature delivery while maintaining operational excellence.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience building scalable, high-volume, low-latency backend services.
- Proficiency with Python, NodeJS, and AWS services including CDK, ECS, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and CloudFront.
- Experience building mapping and geospatial products.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as GitHub.
- Ability to independently perform development tasks from designs and specifications.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, documentation, mentorship, and quality-oriented practices.
- Preferred: proficiency in C++.
