Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend systems for inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, pricing, and fulfillment.
Own technical solutions end to end from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
Develop data-heavy systems involving forecasting, optimization, and operational decision-making.
Make architectural decisions balancing scalability, reliability, development speed, and maintainability.
Improve reliability, observability, scalability, and operational excellence for owned systems.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and operations teams on technical direction and solutions.
Contribute to engineering standards through technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Use AI-assisted development tools while validating their output and applying sound engineering judgment.

Strong experience designing, building, and operating production backend systems.
Professional experience with Go, Kotlin, or another modern backend language.
Experience owning services through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, reliability, and production operations.
Strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals, including APIs, databases, asynchronous processing, failure handling, testing, and observability.
Experience with data-heavy systems and streaming or data infrastructure such as Kafka or Snowflake.
Ability to break down ambiguous problems, make technical trade-offs, and deliver incrementally.
Ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners.
Clear and concise technical communication skills.
Effective use and critical evaluation of AI-assisted development tools, with ownership of resulting code and decisions.
Preferred experience with forecasting, optimization, scheduling, recommendation, decisioning, grocery, retail, logistics, supply chain, warehouse technology, ERP, vendor management, procurement, workforce management integrations, legacy-platform replacement, or high-throughput event-driven architectures.

Role based in the Helsinki or Stockholm tech hub.
Distributed-team environment, though fully remote work or relocation may not be supported.
