Responsibilities
- Develop and engineer end-to-end system features from user experience through backend code.
- Design and implement system features aligned with project goals and client requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborate with and manage teams, and contribute to decisions across multiple teams.
- Mentor junior team members and coordinate cross-functional efforts to improve project delivery.
- Apply approved AI coding assistants to Kafka producers, consumers, stream-processing logic, and configuration, with human review and validation.
- Build and support Kafka event pipelines for AI inference, embedding updates, and retrieval-augmented generation data ingestion.
- Validate security, message ordering, delivery semantics, idempotency, schema compatibility, dependency risk, throughput, response quality, latency, cost, prompt-injection resistance, and sensitive-data handling.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with Apache Kafka is stated as an additional requirement.
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka and experience with distributed messaging systems and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of backend and frontend development frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization.
- Experience with agile software development and continuous integration practices.
- Hands-on experience with approved AI coding assistants, context-rich prompting, generated-code review, and automated test validation.
- Experience with Java or Python, LLM APIs, Kafka Streams or approved client libraries, and retrieval/vector-store integrations.
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment management, including securities, trading, portfolio management, and investment operations.
- Completion of 15 years of full-time education.
