Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build a performant search and indexing ecosystem for complex, granularly permissioned data.
- Contribute to open-source data-processing libraries and integrate performance improvements.
- Build distributed systems for large-scale compute workloads, including orchestration and scheduling of hundreds of thousands of containers per hour.
- Design system architecture and opinionated APIs that simplify application development.
- Implement tracing and performance observability for high-scale distributed microservice architectures.
- Build reliable, performant, and scalable storage, authentication, and asset-serving systems for other product teams.
- Automate deployment, management, and operations of distributed systems such as Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Kafka across environments.
- Potentially participate in Frontline, working directly with customers to understand problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable and reliable infrastructure systems in production.
- An engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
- Strong coding skills and demonstrated proficiency in Java, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with storage and data-processing systems, cloud infrastructure, and related technical tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to iterate quickly, incorporate feedback, and maintain a high quality bar.
- Experience developing and managing highly available distributed systems is beneficial but not required.
- An active US security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one, is beneficial but not required.
