Responsibilities
- Own the QA strategy and execution for the Network SDK, including HAL, SAI, platform APIs, and data plane interfaces.
- Design and maintain test frameworks and automation suites for SDK APIs, hardware integration, and system behavior.
- Lead functional, regression, performance, scalability, and release qualification testing.
- Triage defects and perform root-cause analysis with SDK developers, ASIC teams, and network operating system integration teams.
- Define and track quality metrics for reliability, performance, and compliance.
- Mentor and guide a small team of QA engineers on test methodology, automation, and debugging.
- Integrate automated SDK tests into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with DevOps.
- Validate hardware abstraction, packet I/O, and platform APIs across standalone and system-level configurations.
- Expand automation coverage across multiple hardware SKUs and software branches.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software QA or validation experience for networking SDKs, network operating system platforms, or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of L2/L3 forwarding, ACLs, QoS, and multicast.
- Experience with C/C++ API testing, Python automation, and Linux-based environments.
- Familiarity with hardware abstraction layers, switch SDKs, SAI, DPDK, and P4-based platforms.
- Deep debugging skills using packet captures, logs, SDK traces, and hardware counters.
- Ability to architect test frameworks, design test plans, and drive complex system validation efforts.
- Leadership experience mentoring engineers, driving technical reviews, and managing quality deliverables.
- Preferred experience validating multi-ASIC or chassis-based switching systems.
- Preferred knowledge of platform daemons and integration with SONiC, EOS, NX-OS, or similar network operating system layers.
- Preferred familiarity with IXIA, Spirent, or TRex traffic-generation tools and realistic scale testing.
- Preferred experience with continuous validation frameworks, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or containerized test environments.
- Contributions to open-source SDKs or network software projects such as SAI or SONiC are preferred.
