Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve the RokuOS Platform Abstraction Layer for new devices and features.
- Architect modular, portable RokuOS components and hardware/software abstractions.
- Build tools and infrastructure supporting platform portability across hardware and software ecosystems.
- Write high-performance, reliable C and C++ software designed for portability.
- Debug complex system issues, optimize performance, and improve product quality.
- Collaborate independently and in small cross-functional engineering groups to deliver features on schedule.
- Drive AI adoption across the team, mentor others, and establish repeatable AI engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing Linux-based consumer electronics products.
- Expert proficiency in C and C++ and demonstrated experience with API design and portable, cross-platform code.
- A proven track record with embedded Linux development projects and system-level portability abstractions.
- Experience with Wi-Fi, audio/video streaming, or secure video playback technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with consumer products, user interfaces, and networking functionality.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- AI literacy, curiosity about generative AI, or experience using generative AI tools and agentic engineering workflows.
