Base Salary
$212k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate cloud-native infrastructure platforms supporting Airbnb services and engineering teams.
- Develop developer APIs and command-line interfaces, Kubernetes infrastructure, autoscaling and capacity management tools, and cloud infrastructure automation.
- Deliver secure, efficient, mature, highly available frameworks and platforms.
- Optimize existing systems and services for performance and operational efficiency.
- Improve system availability using distributed-systems best practices.
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and contribute to cloud-native engineering challenges and open source communities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience with a BS or Master's degree, or 2+ years of experience with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record developing and operating large-scale technical projects with experienced engineers.
- Deep Kubernetes expertise, including operating Kubernetes at scale.
- Expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their Infrastructure as a Service offerings, such as EC2.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems throughout the software life cycle.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and production debugging skills.
- Passion for efficiency, availability, reliability, and overall system quality.
