Responsibilities
- Design and implement decoupled data supply chains across landing, quality, transformation, and consumption layers.
- Implement and document business and technical KPIs with metric traceability, explainability, and observability.
- Build and maintain semantic layers that connect structured data with natural-language querying and LLM integration.
- Expand BI reporting with RAG-driven analytics and contextual AI-generated insights.
- Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and pipelines while ensuring data quality, lineage, and observability.
- Expose data assets and AI services through APIs for technical and non-technical consumers.
- Coach business users and citizen analysts and support adoption of AI-assisted workflows.
- Embed protections against prompt injection, data leakage, and model misuse.
- Collaborate across IT, data, security, and business functions to ensure governance, compliance, and data sovereignty.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and implementing multi-layer data architectures.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one scripting or transformation language such as Python or dbt.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, vector stores, RAG patterns, semantic layers, and LLM-integrated workflows using tools such as LangChain or LangGraph.
- Experience with BI and analytics platforms such as Qlik or Power BI.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS data and AI services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure ML, AWS Glue, or SageMaker.
- Ability to understand non-technical business users and explain AI and data concepts clearly.
- Understanding of AI security risks including prompt injection, data leakage, and chain-reaction errors in AI pipelines.
- Awareness of GDPR, the EU AI Act, and EU data sovereignty principles.
- Strong spoken and written English; German is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Purview, OneLake, or Microsoft Foundry is valuable.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or procurement environments is valuable.
- Knowledge and practical application of Responsible AI principles and AI ethics frameworks is valuable.
