Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate sandbox infrastructure for agent code execution, process isolation, resource limits, and secure credential handling across concurrent sessions.
- Design deployment and migration pipelines for Cloudflare Workers and Fly.io, including blue-green rollouts and canary patterns.
- Instrument real-time workloads involving SSE streaming, task queues, and multi-model LLM provider routing.
- Ship backend capabilities, tool integrations, scheduled task execution, and memory indexing.
- Build structured logging, tracing, monitoring, and incident response tooling to reduce operational toil.
- Develop and ship full-stack features across the agent runtime, backend APIs, web UI, and desktop UI.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of engineering experience building and operating backend systems in production.
- Fluency in TypeScript and comfort working across the stack, with a backend focus.
- Production experience building real-time systems using WebSockets, SSE, event streaming, or message queues.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and consistency tradeoffs.
- Experience shipping infrastructure to real users rather than only building internal tooling.
- Experience being on-call.
- Experience with Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, or edge serverless compute is preferred.
- Experience building agent systems, model routing layers, or LLM tool-use architectures is preferred.
- Founder or early-stage engineering experience and strong product orientation are preferred.

- Full-time, in-person work in San Francisco's Presidio office five days per week; candidates must be based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate before starting.
