Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, communicate, and recommend remediation strategies for application security risks.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and security testing for web applications, APIs, and modern application architectures.
- Support secure software development lifecycle and DevSecOps initiatives.
- Embed security controls into engineering processes and CI/CD pipelines in partnership with development teams.
- Conduct static, dynamic, and manual application security assessments.
- Review application architectures and provide security guidance during design and development.
- Track vulnerabilities and collaborate with stakeholders on timely remediation.
- Participate in threat modeling and security architecture reviews.
- Develop and maintain application security standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Support regulatory, audit, and application security compliance activities.
- Provide security awareness training and secure coding guidance to engineering and development teams.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for application security and secure coding practices.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of overall IT experience, including 1–3 years focused on application security.
- Experience performing application vulnerability assessments and security testing.
- Knowledge of secure software development principles and secure coding practices.
- Understanding of modern application and API architectures.
- Experience working in DevSecOps and CI/CD environments.
- Ability to communicate security risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Preferred: 7–9 years of overall IT experience and 4–6 years of dedicated application security experience.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with cloud-native application security, OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, secure SDLC frameworks, and enterprise-scale security initiatives.
- At least 1 year of experience across one or more of application security, application security testing, software engineering, DevSecOps, and modern application and API architectures.
- Candidates must have valid local legal authorization to work in the country where the role is based.
