Responsibilities
- Contribute to large, impactful projects that evolve Elasticsearch's core infrastructure.
- Identify and develop opportunities for automation to enhance developer productivity.
- Design and implement new horizontally-scalable features and APIs in Elasticsearch.
- Solve performance and concurrency issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Improve operation and observability of Elasticsearch cloud systems.
- Collaborate openly with the ES team, Elastic users, and other open source projects.
- Support support engineers with complex problems.
- Own operational investigations end-to-end until issues are resolved.
Requirements
- Experience crafting APIs and understanding tradeoffs.
- Proficient in algorithms and data structures.
- Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with concurrency constructs.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and practices.
- Experience leading large scale projects across engineering teams.
- Ability to own projects from design to implementation.
- Proven track record of using AI to enhance development and optimize code.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and work autonomously.
