Responsibilities
- Frame problems with product management, run experiments, and incorporate customer evidence into product decisions
- Own engineering outcomes end-to-end, including deciding what to build, shipping it, and evaluating whether it worked
- Harden critical paths, eliminate classes of incidents, and design abstractions for team-wide use
- Review risky changes and provide technical guidance to teammates
- Manage technical risks and communicate clear tradeoffs
- Work across backend services, frontend issues, data pipelines, platform systems, and AI-related initiatives
- Share learnings about AI and help improve team-wide engineering practices
- Stay close to customers through user interviews, session recordings, and support interactions
Requirements
- Several years of experience shipping production systems
- Strong judgment and ability to independently navigate ambiguous problems
- Generalist engineering range across backend services, frontend, and data pipelines
- Ability to learn unfamiliar parts of the stack quickly and take ownership of outcomes
- Ability to collaborate as a peer with product management and work closely with product, design, data, customers, and business partners
- Ability to reason from first principles in a language-agnostic technical evaluation
