Base Salary
$145k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Continuously harden the security of spacecraft embedded systems with flight software engineers
- Conduct security reviews of flight controller software, control systems, and communication protocols
- Establish and enforce secure coding practices for safety-critical embedded software
- Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews for embedded systems
- Design and implement security testing harnesses and integrate security features into test fixtures and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement and audit secure boot processes, runtime hardening, memory safety controls, secrets and key material management, and communication protections
- Support device security efforts and spacecraft deployments with security monitoring and incident response capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on embedded systems development experience focused on security
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and deep understanding of memory safety and secure coding practices
- Experience with low-level embedded software architecture, design, development, and security-hardened device drivers
- Proficiency with embedded systems tools, compilers, debuggers, IDEs, and static analysis tools
- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with embedded security standards and best practices
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Experience using the Ghommit tool is preferred
- Experience with spacecraft or satellite embedded software or other aerospace safety-critical systems is preferred
- Experience with secure firmware update mechanisms and anti-tamper techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of hardware security modules and secure elements is preferred
- Familiarity with CCSDS and ECSS protocols and standards is preferred
- Must satisfy applicable U.S. Government space technology export and ITAR eligibility requirements
