Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into scalable, secure, maintainable solution architectures.
  • Design end-to-end technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and long-term platform strategy.
  • Design AI-enabled workflows, LLM, RAG, and AI-agent solutions where appropriate.
  • Create solution diagrams, integration designs, API specifications, data flows, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate technology options, architecture patterns, and third-party solutions based on scalability, security, maintainability, cost, and business value.
  • Design cloud-native, API-first, event-driven, and integration solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure implementations follow architectural designs and best practices.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, identify technical risks, recommend mitigations, and support security and governance compliance.
  • Contribute to platform modernization, reusable architecture patterns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to development teams.
  • Review application architecture and source code for engineering quality, security, maintainability, performance, and scalability.
  • Design data platforms, pipelines, streaming architectures, data lakes, warehouses, and governance frameworks.
  • Incorporate security-by-design, identity and access management, encryption, secrets management, network security, vulnerability management, and zero-trust practices.
  • Apply monitoring, logging, tracing, performance engineering, resilience, disaster recovery, and operational excellence practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven track record delivering production systems.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives across teams.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG, prompt engineering, AI orchestration, model evaluation, and AI governance.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and integrating AI-powered workflows, autonomous agents, and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Experience with enterprise AI platforms and frameworks such as Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Vertex AI, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or AutoGen.
  • Expertise designing scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available distributed systems and modern application architectures.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs, GraphQL, asynchronous messaging, event-driven integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native, serverless, containerized, hybrid-cloud, and cloud-agnostic solutions.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and Azure AKS or equivalent orchestration platforms.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, release automation, feature management, observability, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience packaging applications and services for reliable, repeatable, automated deployment across environments.
  • Experience designing modern data platforms, data pipelines, streaming architectures, data lakes, warehouses, and governance frameworks.
  • Understanding of frontend, backend, APIs, databases, messaging, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines for complete end-to-end solutions.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI, AI security, privacy, governance, regulatory compliance, ethical AI, and model lifecycle management.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority, evaluate tradeoffs, build consensus, and balance short-term priorities with long-term sustainability.
  • Ability to coach and mentor engineers and peers.
  • Preferred qualifications include a relevant master's degree, experience in high-scale cloud environments, and prior impact as a Staff-level engineer.
  • Preferred certifications include a cloud provider professional certification or a security certification such as CSSLP.
