Responsibilities
- Implement platform infrastructure abstractions that translate service-team requirements into infrastructure-as-code parameters and production deployments
- Deploy and operate VPCs, compute pools, storage, Kubernetes clusters, and supporting networks using infrastructure-as-code modules
- Help operate and maintain managed publish/subscribe messaging systems such as Kafka
- Consume Cloud Operations infrastructure-as-code modules and provide operational feedback and enhancement requests
- Write production-quality Java code with security and best practices built in
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions alongside senior engineers while learning cloud architecture and operational practices
Requirements
- Solid software engineering fundamentals with Java or similar programming experience
- Familiarity with basic networking and cloud computing concepts
- Comfort with the Linux command line and willingness to learn systems administration basics
- Interest in infrastructure reliability and operating production services at scale
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Preferred hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Preferred exposure to Kubernetes, containerization, or orchestration concepts
- Preferred familiarity with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Preferred experience in a collaborative engineering environment or through an internship
