Responsibilities
- Design and build AI agents and automated workflows for clinic operations, including insurance benefits verification, prior authorizations, patient intake, claims, and clinical documentation.
- Build web and mobile features for clinicians, patients, families, and internal operations teams.
- Define ambiguous problems with operators and clinicians, write specifications, and ship initial versions.
- Design services, data models, and APIs while managing infrastructure as code.
- Own services in production, including deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
- Write evaluations for model-facing features and track workflow metrics.
- Handle protected health information safely using least-privilege access, PHI-free logs, and auditable changes.
- Build and maintain engineering skills, plugins, MCP integrations, and review bots for Claude Code and Codex.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Recent hands-on experience using or building AI harnesses around models or coding agents, including project instructions, tools, MCP servers, skills, hooks, subagents, or evaluations.
- At least one personal project built and published on the web that is live and usable, ideally a SaaS product with working payments.
- End-to-end ownership of products or features from unclear problem definition through dependable production systems.
- Strong full-stack skills in Python and TypeScript across frontend, backend, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Comfort working in a large, established codebase.
- Hands-on experience with LLM tool use, agent orchestration, structured outputs, retrieval, and evaluations, using LangGraph, an agents SDK, or a similar tool.
- Daily use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, including configuring them for codebases, parallel task execution, and output review.
- Ability to make sound UI decisions without a dedicated designer using a component library.
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry, HIPAA, payer and claims workflows, EHR integrations, or HL7/FHIR is preferred.
- Experience with Temporal or another durable workflow engine is preferred.
- React Native experience is preferred.
- Experience running production LLM evaluations or safety checks is preferred.
- Experience building an agent harness, MCP server, or coding-agent plugin is preferred.
- Open-source work or internal tools used by others is preferred.
