Base Salary
$186k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers while driving architectural decisions and quality outcomes.
- Design and architect scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable backend systems for equipment integration.
- Mentor and coach engineers and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Solve complex technical challenges and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Champion code quality, documentation, testing, and code review practices.
- Identify and resolve backend performance bottlenecks.
- Communicate technical concepts and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Own projects and initiatives through successful completion.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with CIP, Modbus, MQTT, and OPC UA, plus experience integrating factory equipment such as programmable logic controllers and robot controllers.
- Experience designing and developing firmware or software for resource-constrained embedded systems, including hardware interfaces, real-time operating systems, and hardware-level debugging.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and gRPC, including API documentation and versioning.
- Extensive Golang experience, including concurrency, networking, and data structures.
- Strong data-processing knowledge and experience with message queues and stream processing such as NATS, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Knowledge of security best practices for backend systems and industrial environments.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with edge computing platforms and technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
