Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering standards for the team.
- Design and build architectures balancing simplicity, quality, scale, security, and operational needs.
- Simplify systems and workflows by reducing friction, toil, and unnecessary handoffs.
- Create reusable patterns, guardrails, and tooling that accelerate delivery.
- Apply software design, data, testing, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Use AI-enabled tools across design, coding, testing, review, and documentation with human accountability for high-risk decisions and final quality.
- Build reliable software using secure coding, observability, testing, and disciplined rollout and rollback practices.
- Ensure production systems meet required resiliency, performance, scalability, and operability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience; an advanced degree is a plus.
- 15+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated depth in full-stack engineering and system or application architecture.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
- Experience designing RESTful and streaming-based APIs.
- Hands-on experience delivering cloud-native solutions using microservices, containerization, and modern deployment patterns.
- Working knowledge of NoSQL and distributed data stores and their application at scale.
- Experience with AI-enabled capabilities, including GenAI or ML-driven services, for developer productivity, system intelligence, or customer outcomes.
- Pragmatic understanding of responsible AI use, scalability, and enterprise-platform integration.
- Experience in securities, financial services, or modern engineering-first organizations is preferred.
