Base Salary
$172k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead research and development of advanced motion-planning algorithms for autonomous driving.
- Architect, integrate, evaluate, and refine motion-planning and prediction algorithms for production deployment.
- Design and build robust, scalable, high-performance software for prototyping and evaluating planning approaches.
- Collaborate across perception, prediction, trajectory optimization, tracking, and control components to ensure end-to-end system performance.
- Lead technical development of complex features from problem formulation through research, implementation, and production deployment.
- Teach software practices and principles and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- PhD preferred in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or a master’s degree with 2+ years of robotics experience.
- 5+ years of research experience in robotics or motion planning, with contributions to state-of-the-art solutions.
- 3+ years of C++ software development experience focused on high-performance and reliable systems.
- Experience owning and leading complex technical features through research, implementation, and production deployment.
- Preferred experience with probabilistic models such as Gaussian mixture models, Hidden Markov Models, and Particle Filters.
- Preferred experience with Bayesian modeling and inference for decision-making under uncertainty.
- Experience with the Bazel build framework is a bonus.
