Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data platform infrastructure.
- Implement and optimize analytic query engines using Trino (Presto), Redshift, and BigQuery.
- Design and support data management solutions using Apache Iceberg.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams on integration, schema detection, and schema evolution.
- Develop and maintain observability frameworks for monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and platform performance.
- Implement data modeling, schema design, and pipeline fan-out best practices.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across Medallion architectures, star schemas, and Lakehouse environments.
- Improve platform scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Provide architectural input, technical design feedback, difficult-problem solving, and thorough code reviews.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in data platform engineering or related infrastructure and data management roles.
- Deep experience with Trino (Presto), Redshift, BigQuery, and Apache Iceberg or similar technologies.
- Expertise designing platforms using Medallion architecture, star schemas, and schema evolution.
- Experience with automated schema detection, observability, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong Python skills and experience with modern infrastructure automation tools.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent-working abilities.
- Extensive experience with observable and scalable data platforms, query optimization, database scaling, platform architecture, and business-aligned platform strategies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK is preferred.
