Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and extend the core ledger, including accounts, postings, account types, and ledger structures.
- Own chart-of-accounts and reporting systems connecting engineering data to financial statements and downstream reporting.
- Build balance verification, reconciliation, and proof-of-reserve-style mechanisms across on-chain and off-chain books.
- Partner with engineering, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product teams to model ownership, ledger placement, pricing, and reconciliation before product launches.
- Design extensible data models for margin, lending, staking, tokenized assets, and future financial products.
- Review and critique technical designs across multiple systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with ownership of data-model design for correctness-critical systems.
- Working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts design, financial statements, reconciliation, and audit requirements.
- Strong system-design skills, including extensible schemas and APIs.
- Ability to read and critique technical designs across multiple systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Preferred experience with crypto or blockchain infrastructure, on-chain balance models, custody, or wallet architecture.
- Preferred experience with event-driven or Kafka-based service architectures.
- Preferred experience in accounting architecture or financial-systems design review at a fintech or crypto company.
