Base Salary
$138k - $138k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement new Android app features, experiences, and architecture designs for the Sonos application.
- Develop and maintain navigation, content browsing, playlist management, Now Playing, playback control, and streaming-service integrations.
- Investigate crashes, rendering bugs, accessibility problems, playback performance degradation, and UI lag, and ship production fixes.
- Use telemetry and diagnostic data to debug software, measure user experience, and infer usage patterns.
- Design APIs and integrate mobile SDKs for music service providers and player hardware.
- Use Git-based workflows, code reviews, release-branch fixes, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Serve as a project and technical lead for navigation architecture, telemetry instrumentation, screen session tracking, and cross-screen navigation.
- Create project timelines, track information, collaborate globally, and mentor teammates on software development practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the offered position or a related position.
- Expertise developing Android applications with Kotlin and Java, including consumer electronics companion apps and streaming-service integrations.
- Experience testing and shipping production Android features through the Google Play Store, including navigation architecture, browsing screens, playlists, and audio playback controls.
- Experience diagnosing Android performance, UI rendering, crash, accessibility, and playback issues, including TalkBack-related issues.
- Experience with Kotlin SDKs for music service providers and player hardware, mobile API design, source control, pull requests, release branches, and continuous integration.
- Experience leading a major Android navigation architecture or similar technical initiative.
- Expertise may be gained through employment experience or education and must be sufficient to perform the job duties.
