Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize robust backend systems using C, C++, Perl, and other languages.
- Build features for on-premises appliance-based and cloud-based email security products.
- Collaborate with product managers, customers, developers, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and promote technical excellence.
- Troubleshoot issues and debug systems using tools such as GDB and Strace.
- Influence architectural decisions and technology roadmaps while staying current with industry trends.
- Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities, including LLMs and AI APIs, into production systems for automation and intelligent threat detection.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of software development experience with Perl, C, or C++.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL, including optimization techniques.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines and version control systems such as GitHub.
- Proficiency with debugging and troubleshooting tools including GDB and Strace.
- Familiarity with Linux and networking protocols such as SMTP, DNS, and TLS.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Proven production experience integrating AI/ML technologies, working with LLMs, crafting prompts, or using AI APIs.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and AJAX is advantageous.
- Experience with email security, cloud-connected appliances, or network security is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, or Golang is beneficial.
