Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize Chromium components including Blink, Viz, the compositor, display lists, and the GPU process.
  • Improve rendering, browser, GPU, IPC, memory, and process performance across mobile, tablet, foldable, and desktop devices.
  • Optimize browser runtime capabilities for local AI/ML workloads using WebNN, WebGPU, WASM/SIMD, and GPU/NPU acceleration.
  • Develop browser capabilities for software agents to understand and interact with web content through DOM, accessibility trees, browser APIs, and IPC.
  • Integrate Chromium with OpenHarmony platform APIs and GPU, NPU, and display-processing hardware.
  • Collaborate with open-source communities and contribute to Chromium and related projects.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in C/C++ and systems-level software development.
  • 5+ years of experience with web engines such as Chromium/Blink, WebKit, Firefox/Gecko, or Servo.
  • Strong understanding of browser architecture, rendering pipelines, compositors, multi-process architecture, IPC, and OS integration.
  • Hands-on browser performance analysis and optimization experience using tools such as Perfetto or Chrome Tracing.
  • Experience with graphics technologies, web runtimes, Chromium embedding, or Android, Linux, OpenHarmony, and other embedded/mobile platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed engineering teams.
  • Rust experience is a plus.
  • Experience with on-device ML/AI runtimes, GPU/NPU acceleration, browser automation, agent-based web interaction, DOM or accessibility tree APIs is desirable.
  • Contributions to Chromium or other major open-source projects are desirable; Chromium Committer/Owner status is a strong plus.
