Responsibilities
- Implement scalable and reliable backend microservices on AWS infrastructure.
- Develop and support data-processing systems and Kafka-based event-driven services.
- Provide support during critical incidents and implement preventive reliability measures.
- Monitor AWS usage and recommend cost savings while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for architectures, processes, and procedures.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
- Own critical components end-to-end and gradually influence architecture and engineering standards.
- Identify platform gaps and deliver improvements that enable AI/ML and analytics use cases.
Requirements
- Experience developing Java services and libraries using Java 11 or later.
- Experience developing and supporting backend data-processing systems within AWS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including ALB, ECS, S3, ElastiCache, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of implementing and maintaining Kafka-based event-driven services.
- Proficiency with relational or NoSQL databases, including database design, optimization, and management.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Willingness to use AI-powered development tools such as Cursor and Claude across the engineering lifecycle.
