Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy computer vision and machine learning models for disaster detection, monitoring, assessment, response, and risk mitigation.
- Process, calibrate, and fuse optical, SAR, and thermal data from current and upcoming Earth observation missions and commercial satellite constellations.
- Perform image quality assessment, radiometric and atmospheric correction, geometric registration, and artifact reduction.
- Build automated data ingestion and processing pipelines using cloud-based geospatial platforms and modern AI frameworks.
Requirements
- Degree in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong machine learning and deep learning experience with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, applied to spatial and temporal Earth observation data.
- Technical expertise in image processing, quality control, and geospatial analysis libraries such as GDAL, Rasterio, xarray, and QGIS.
- Understanding of current Earth observation satellite missions, sensor characteristics, and upcoming satellite programs.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with cloud environments such as Google Earth Engine.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
