Base Salary
$150k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement full avionics embedded firmware.
- Oversee firmware architecture for avionics systems.
- Ensure development conforms to DO-178C processes.
- Conduct trade studies across firmware and system design considerations.
- Design and recommend sensor interfaces.
- Implement code and verification and validation activities.
- Collaborate with systems engineering and other engineering teams to define eVTOL aircraft and systems-safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing test systems for eVTOL aircraft.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience with the DO-178C regulatory process.
- Experience taking one or more products from concept through aircraft production.
- Extensive experience with low-level interfaces such as SPI, I2C, CAN FD, and UARTs.
- Experience writing C/C++ firmware for MCUs in embedded systems.
- Experience writing Python scripts and developing in Python.
- Experience reading circuit schematics with schematic capture tools.
- Proficiency troubleshooting circuits with appropriate laboratory tools.
- Preferred: 5+ years of relevant embedded-development experience.
- Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Preferred: experience with statistical analysis and taking a product through the entire development process.
- Familiarity with the FAA Aircraft Certification Process, Defense Airworthiness Process for Software, prototype and medium-volume manufacturing, BLDC motor-controller integration and testing, or lithium-based battery testing and monitoring.
