Base Salary
$136k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software services that extend Equinix networking services through a network-adjacent virtualized compute platform.
- Design and manage highly concurrent, scalable, distributed networking systems aligned with customer SLAs.
- Lead CI/CD pipeline development, unit testing, integration testing, observability, system profiling, stress testing, and performance improvements.
- Develop networking proof-of-concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide technology investments and implementation decisions.
- Partner with support and operations teams to operationalize production software and troubleshoot incidents.
- Identify technical debt, improve software quality, mentor developers, and contribute to team and cross-functional engineering leadership.
- Participate in production on-call rotations and incident-management improvements.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of software development experience, preferably building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relevant engineering field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience building software-defined, multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native networking technologies.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, EVP-LAN, and IPSEC.
- Experience with gRPC and Netconf network management protocols.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable open-source containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure services and technologies.
- Expertise automating application deployments into Kubernetes on x86 deployments.
- Experience with open-source and networking technologies, ecosystems, communities, and industry forums such as the Linux Foundation.
- Strong understanding of the application development stack and a substantive track record with Golang.
- Experience leading and mentoring software developers to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering and executive audiences.
